Eze's stunning 25-yard strike against Southampton nominated for Crystal Palace GOTM
Published: May 03, 2023Eberechi Eze has been nominated for Crystal Palace Goal of the Month award for April 2023 for his stunning strike in a 2-0 win over Southampton at the St Mary's Stadium on April 15.
The former England U21 international of Nigerian descent was in red-hot form last month, scoring four goals in six appearances, all of which he started, and it's his second goal against the Saints that has made the shortlist.
Midway through the second half, Eze turned away from two defenders and picked out the bottom corner from 25-yards.
The other five contenders for the Eagles Goal of the Month award are : Jean-Philippe Mateta, Hollie Olding, Adler Nascimento, Hindolo Mustapha and Odsonne Edouard.
Eze is aiming to make it a hat-trick of Goal of the Month awards after claiming the prize in October and December.
Other winners of Crystal Palace's Goal of the Month award this season are Michael Olise, Asher Agbinone, Fionn Mooney, John-Kymani Gordon, Vonnte Williams and Wilfried Zaha.
This season, Eze has directly participated in eleven goals (8 goals 3 assists) in thirty four appearances in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old is a player of interest to the Nigeria Football Federation and is also on the radar of England boss Gareth Southgate.
