Man Utd concerned about Osimhen's lack of Premier League experience, injury record
Published: May 10, 2023Manchester United may end their interest in Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen over his lack of Premier League experience, according to reports.
The Red Devils have been an admirer of the Napoli striker following his exceptional performance this season, scoring 28 goals in all competitions for the newly crowned Serie A champions.
United need a prolific striker with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst, who was brought in the January transfer window, proving to be unreliable in front of goal.
Osimhen has been identified as a potential target in the summer but Manchester United will no doubt be looking at other strikers with Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane their number one target, if the latest report is anything to go by.
Football Insider claims Manchester United will no longer be pursuing a deal for the 24-year-old because he has not proven himself in the Premier League.
The report also added that the Super Eagles forward's injury record doesn't fill the Old Trafford chiefs with confidence that they need to sanction a deal for him.
Osimhen has mustered 74 goals combined in 135 appearances for Lille and Napoli - two big five European league clubs.
