Official : Two players to depart Chelsea at end of the season
Published: May 18, 2023Through their official website, Chelsea have announced that two players will be departing the club at the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Chelsea Women captain Magdalena Eriksson will be leaving the Londoners upon the expiry of her contract in the summer.
The Sweden international will play her last two games for Chelsea against Arsenal and Reading as the Blues aim to retain the Women's Super League title.
Since landing at Chelsea six years ago from Linköpings FC, the Stockholm native has played 183 matches, contributing eleven goals and winning eleven trophies including the FA Women's Super League (4), Women's FA Cup (4), FA Women's League Cup (2) and FA Community Shield (1).
The defender also played for Enskede IK, Hammarby and Djurgårdens IF in her homeland prior to her move to Chelsea.
Denmark international Pernille Harder comes off contract with Chelsea in the summer and she's also set to depart the club.
A striker by trade, the 30-year-old Harder has netted 44 goals in 79 appearances for Chelsea Women, helping them win the WSL, FA Cup and League Cup in her three-year association with the club.
After spells at Team Viborg, Skovbakken, Linköping and VfL Wolfsburg, she joined Chelsea for a world record fee in excess of 250,000 pounds in 2020.
