Official: Huddersfield Town confirm Super Eagles-eligible midfielder has returned to Chelsea

Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Faustino Anjorin will not be joining Championship club Huddersfield Town on a permanent deal, as things stand.

Through their official website, the Terries confirmed their retained and released list on Friday following the conclusion of the 2023-2023 season.

Watford-owned winger Joseph Hungbo and Chelsea starlet Anjorin are among the six loanees returning to their parent clubs.

Anjorin returned for a second loan spell at Huddersfield Town last summer,  having spent the second half of the 2021-2022 campaign at the club.

The 21-year-old saw his season blighted by injury, but managed to make nine appearances in all competitions and scored two goals which came in a Championship clash against West Brom in August.

Anjorin has played five games for Chelsea's first team including debuts in the Carabao Cup, Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League under Frank Lampard.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield Town have taken their option to extend the contract of Spanish-Nigerian-Equatorial Guinean defender Charles Ondo.

Youth team players of Nigerian descent Tyree Sanusi and Joseph Johnson have been released and set to depart Huddersfield Town at the conclusion of their contracts.
