Official: Millwall offer new deal to Anglo-Nigerian striker
Published: May 20, 2023Through their official website, Championship club Millwall have published their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season.
At development squad level, the Lions have confirmed that Anglo-Nigerian striker Abdul Abdulmalik has been offered a new contract.
He has been rewarded with a new deal after helping Millwall qualify for the Professional Development League final.
Abdulmakik was heavily linked with a departure from Millwall in the summer of 2021 but having trained with the likes of Portsmouth, Watford and Southampton, he returned to the Lions to sign a new contract.
The 20-year-old has yet to receive call-up for a first team game since joining Millwall from Fulham on schoolboy terms
Meanwhile, Millwall have unilaterally triggered the one-year option in Chinwike Okoli's contract, a move that will see the central defender remain at the club until at least June 30, 2024.
The Millwall U21 captain has played nonstop at the Lions since the age of twelve, joining the club after he was scouted whilst playing grassroots football.
