Obi-Martin does it again: Arsenal youth striker scores four goals in back-to-back games
Published: March 30, 2024
For the second consecutive game, Nigeria-eligible striker Chido Obi-Martin scored four goals for Arsenal U18s in their 5-2 victory over Fulham on Saturday afternoon at the Sobha Realty Training Centre.
The Danish-Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 21st minute, slotting the ball home from the penalty spot after Max Dowman had been brought down.
He scored his second in the 33rd minute, finishing off Dowman's effort who had dribbled past his markers before laying a pass to the former to double the home side's lead.
Macauley Zepa-Adams put one back in the third minute of the first half additional time before Obi-Martin restored Arsenal's two-goal cushion a minute later.
The 16-year-old was brought down in the penalty area and stepped up to convert the resulting penalty to bag his hat-trick.
Anand Bartra reduced the away side deficit in the seventh minute of the first half additional time from Zepa-Adams' assist.
Right on the hour mark, Dowman found Louis Zecevic-John who smashed the ball home to put the young Gunners' in a good position to win the game.
Obi-Martin put the icing on the cake in the 87th minute, heading Dowman's cross into the net to cap another remarkable performance.
The Denmark youth international has now netted 12 goals in 11 games in the U18 Premier League this term, scoring a haul on two occasions and a hat trick once.
