Nigeria's Super Falcons and France's Les Bleues to face off in friendly match at Stade Raymond Kopa
Published: November 05, 2024
The Super Falcons are set to face France's Senior Women's National Team, Les Bleues, this November as part of their preparations for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
According to a press release by the Nigeria Football Federation, the Super Falcons are scheduled to play against France on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers, with kick-off set for 9:30 p.m. local time in France.
The encounter marks only the seventh time that Les Bleues will play in Angers and is a key warm-up fixture for both teams.
While France is gearing up for the League of Nations in spring and the UEFA Women's Euro Championship in Switzerland, Nigeria will use the encounter to develop a new-look squad under interim coach Justin Madugu.
Following the exit of former head coach Randy Waldrum, Nigeria has shifted focus to rebuilding a new squad to reclaim the WAFCON title from South Africa.
Recently, the Super Falcons engaged in a double-header friendly series against Algeria's Green Ladies on home turf, where coach Madugu gave young and domestic players a chance to showcase their talent.
Despite missing key players like Asisat Oshoala, Nigeria impressed with a 2-0 victory in Ikenne, Ogun State, followed by a 4-1 win in Lagos.
