Transfer market expert confirms 'no truth to rumours' linking Galatasaray, Gift Orban
Published: December 19, 2024
Transfer market expert Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that there’s currently no truth to the rumors linking Galatasaray with a move for Gift Orban in the January transfer window.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported a month ago that Gift Orban would not be heading to Galatasaray during the winter transfer market.
The Turkish giants want to sign a new forward as a replacement for their injured striker Mauro Icadi, and Orban is one of the players who have been linked with them as a result.
Plettenberg did not only reveal that Galatasaray are uninterested in the Nigerian striker but also confirmed their interest in AS Roma's forward Paulo Dybala.
There have been reports all day in the Turkish press leading Dybala with a move to the Istanbul-based side and it has now been confirmed that the Argentine is considered a serious target for the club.
As it stands, Orban is on the verge of joining TSG Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyonnais, putting an end to his dismal stay with the French outfit.
As earlier reported, the German side are on the verge of completing a deal for the 2023 Super Eagles invitee.
The 22-year-old's move to Lyon from KAA Gent has not gone as planned as he has failed to find consistency.
He has been frozen out of the squad and has been placed on the list of players unwanted by the club as they seek to avoid being relegated due to their financial difficulties.
