'We need to sort it out' - Iwobi gives honest assessment of Fulham's recent form
Published: May 12, 2025
Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has urged his teammates to address their recent dip in form as the season draws to a close.
On a personal level, the Nigeria international is having a breakout campaign, registering fifteen goal involvements (9 goals, 6 assists) in 36 Premier League matches.
Fulham's push for a European spot has suffered a blow, with the team losing four of their last five Premier League games and now sitting eleventh in the table with two matches remaining.
While Fulham have impressed at times—claiming results against top opposition—the inconsistency against lower-ranked teams has hampered their push up the table.
Since the start of the year, the Cottagers have beaten Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
Speaking candidly after Fulham's loss to his former employers Everton, Iwobi acknowledged the team's struggles in matches they were expected to win.
"If you look at the rest of the season, we’ve been doing really well and we’ve been getting points against strong sides, solid sides – especially the top teams," Iwobi said to the official website of Fulham.
"But unfortunately it’s games like these where we need to get the points that we haven’t been able to do so.
"I couldn’t tell you what it is but whatever it is, we need to sort it out because we’ve still got a few games to go and we have to end the season as strong as we can.
"The season’s not done – let’s see what we can do."
Fulham travel to face Brentford in a London derby on Sunday before wrapping up their campaign at home against Manchester City on May 18.
