Stephen Odey named in Danish Superliga Team of the Round after helping Randers set club record
Published: May 13, 2025
Former Super Eagles invitee Stephen Odey has been named in the Danish Superliga Team of the Round by the official website of the Superliga, following his impressive performance during Randers' 3-1 win against Aarhus GF on May 11.
The former Mountain of Fire poster boy registered a goal and an assist to help Randers set a new club record for the highest number of goals in a single Superliga season.
Randers scored three goals against AGF, bringing their season total to 55 and breaking the club's previous record of 53 goals set in the 2019-2020 campaign.
Only FC Midtjylland have scored more goals than Randers in the 2024-2025 Superliga.
Not only did Randers set a new record for goals in an entire season, but they also set a new record for goals scored in the Championship round (16).
Randers have averaged 1.833 goals per match this term, their highest scoring average per match in a single season.
Odey has struggled for consistency in the ongoing season, so much so that he is not a guaranteed starter for Randers.
Out of a possible thirty games, the 27-year-old has made the starting lineup just eight times.
After failing to score in 21 consecutive league matches this campaign, the former Racing Genk striker finally found the net against AGF.
Odey's standout performance this season came in the Oddset Cup, where he scored a hat-trick in the second round as Randers thrashed B1913 Odense 10-0.
