'The biggest credit' - OGC Nice coach lauds Moffi after scoring on final day of Ligue 1 season
Published: May 19, 2025
OGC Nice head coach Franck Haise has heaped praise on Nigerian forward Terem Moffi following his goal on the final day of the French Ligue 1 season.
The Nigeria international was not available for selection in the first twenty-six games contested by OGC Nice in the top-flight as he was recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered during pre-season preparations.
On Saturday night at the Allianz Riviera, OGC Nice thrashed Stade Brestois 6-0 to finish fourth in Ligue 1 and secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds next season.
Having come off the bench in the 78th minute, Moffi beat the Brest goalkeeper before slotting in Nice’s fifth of the night.
Nice secured a fourth-place finish despite a campaign marred by injuries and setbacks, with Moffi's late-season contributions proving pivotal.
Despite these hurdles, the team’s resilience and determination saw them over the line.
Speaking to OGC Nice's official website, Franck Haise said: "With the club's employees, the staff, even if there will be changes, everyone worked well, the players too obviously, it's to them that we must give the biggest credit, like Terem (Moffi) and his goal.
"It's symbolic, because we lost players very seriously to injury, we lost others at the end of the season.
"Our season was really difficult. The taste of finishing fourth, with everything we've been through, is quite strong."
Moffi was included in the squad for OGC Nice's final eight Ligue 1 matches and made five appearances as a substitute.
