Newly promoted Premier League club interested in Super Eagles striker Arokodare
Published: July 02, 2025
Newly promoted Premier League club Burnley have reportedly joined the race for Racing Genk striker Tolu Arokodare.
According to The Telegraph UK, Burnley are working on striker options for manager Scott Parker including Arokodare and Premier League players whose contracts have expired.
Arokodare has emerged as one of the most in-demand Nigerian strikers this summer, thanks to his standout performances for both club and country.
He finished as the top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League last season with 21 goals in 40 games, and also added two more in five appearances in the Croky Cup.
On the international stage, Arokodare received his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, making substitute appearances in both fixtures.
Last month, Arokodare earned his fourth cap for Nigeria's senior national team, coming off the bench to net a vital equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Russia during a high-profile friendly in Moscow.
Racing Genk are demanding £25 million for the Nigeria international who has two years left on his contract.
Burnley are hopeful that Genk's valuation will come down as the summer transfer window progresses.
Arokodare, who has also been linked with Fulham in recent days, has reported for pre-season training with Genk amid ongoing speculation surrounding his future.
