Arsenal not prepared to sell Super Eagles-eligible forward amid Chelsea links

Arsenal have ruled out any possibility of selling Ethan Nwaneri this summer despite interest from Chelsea, according to Football Insider.

The 18-year-old forward, who is eligible to represent Nigeria and England has reportedly been identified by Chelsea as a potential successor to Noni Madueke, with the winger said to be nearing a move to the Emirates.

However, Arsenal remain determined to keep hold of Nwaneri and are unwilling to entertain offers, regardless of the fee.

With just one year remaining on his contract, the Gunners have already offered Nwaneri fresh terms.

The youngster, who is seeking greater clarity on his role and playing time, is expected to weigh up the offer in the coming weeks.

Nwaneri played a key role in England's triumph at the 2025 European U21 Championship and has emerged as a long-term option for the Super Eagles, with head coach Eric Chelle reportedly monitoring his progress.

The 2024–25 campaign proved to be a breakthrough season for the left-footed attacker, who made 37 appearances across all competitions, mostly from the bench, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.

Nwaneri became the youngest player in Premier League history at 15 years and 181 days when he debuted for Arsenal against Brentford in September 2022, breaking Harvey Elliott’s record.
