Confirmed: After opening Nigeria account at Wafcon, Liverpool alum joins AS Roma
Published: July 14, 2025
AS Roma has announced the signing of Omorinsola Omowunmi Ajike Babajide, widely known as Rinsola Babajide, to their women’s team.
The move, revealed by the official website of the club on Monday afternoon, sees the talented winger commit to the Giallorosse until June 30, 2027.
Babajide, celebrated for her pace, flair, and creativity on the wing, brings valuable experience from across Europe.
She began her professional journey in England, playing for Millwall, Watford, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion, before moving to Spain, where she impressed at Real Betis and Tenerife.
Her ability to unlock defences and create opportunities is expected to add a new dimension to Roma’s attack.
Currently, Babajide is in Morocco representing the Nigerian Super Falcons at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
In her Wafcon debut on July 6, 2025, she scored her first international goal and provided an assist in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Tunisia, earning widespread praise.
Notably, her goal was marked by a heartfelt tribute to the late Liverpool star Diogo Jota.
Babajide represented England’s youth teams between 2016 and 2019 before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2023, a decision rooted in her heritage.
