Son of former Super Eagles midfielder Etuhu joins Blackpool from Accrington Stanley

With a statement on the official website, EFL League One club Blackpool have announced the signing of promising forward Zaccai Etuhu.

Etuhu has joined the Seasiders from Accrington Stanley, signing a two-year scholarship until June 30, 2027.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can report that Zaccai Etuhu hails from a footballing family with deep ties to the professional game.

His father, Dickson Etuhu, was a key figure for the Super Eagles, representing Nigeria at both the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

Zaccai's footballing pedigree extends further, his uncle, Kevin Etuhu, previously featured for Manchester City, while his younger brother, Zavion, is currently developing his talents in the academy ranks at Liverpool.

For the upcoming season, Zaccai will represent Blackpool U18s, who are coached by Matthew Blinkhorn

Matthew Blinkhorn describes Etuhu as a player who can make things happen in 1v1 situations, and has the potential physically to become a real handful once he gets up to speed within the club's programme.

Etuhu has already made his non-competitive debut for Blackpool, featuring for the entirety of the second half of a 1-0 loss to Squires Gate at the Skiddle Community Stadium.

The winger will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Super Eagles right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel, who rose through the ranks to make his first-team debut for Blackpool while still a teenager.
