History-making forward George open to Chelsea exit this month amid interest from Bundesliga duo

History-making Chelsea winger Tyrique George is reportedly open to leaving Stamford Bridge this month in search of regular first-team football.

In June, at just 19 years and 141 days old, George became the youngest player to score for Chelsea at the Fifa Club World Cup, surpassing the previous mark held by Liam Delap, who was 22 years and 137 days when he netted the Blues' second goal earlier in the same match.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old is attracting strong interest from Bundesliga sides, including RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach, with both loan and permanent transfers under discussion.

George, a product of Chelsea’s Cobham academy, enjoyed a breakthrough 2024/25 campaign, featuring in 26 matches across all competitions and registering eight goal involvements.

His most notable contributions included a strike in a 2-1 Premier League victory over Fulham and a goal in the 3-0 FIFA Club World Cup triumph against Esperance de Tunis.

He was a key figure in Chelsea’s successful Europa Conference League run, playing in every game except the final and scoring in the quarter-final against Legia Warsaw.

However, competition for places under manager Enzo Maresca has intensified following the arrivals of João Pedro and Pedro Neto, alongside the continued rise of Cole Palmer.

With his opportunities likely to be limited, George is eager to secure more consistent playing time elsewhere.

Romano reports that Chelsea would prefer to retain the academy graduate but are open to facilitating a move that supports his development.

A loan to RB Leipzig is seen as a promising option, with the potential for a broader deal involving Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons, a Chelsea transfer target. Borussia Mönchengladbach and several Premier League clubs are also monitoring the situation.
