Roma turn to Chelsea's English-Ghanaian-Nigerian starlet after Man Utd forward refuses move

AS Roma have reportedly renewed their interest in Chelsea's tri-national forward Tyrique George as the Serie A club look to strengthen their attack before the close of the summer transfer window.

An England U19 international, the Camden native is also eligible to represent the national teams of Nigeria and Ghana.

George enjoyed a breakout campaign with the Blues last season, playing a key role in their triumphs at the Fifa Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League.

George registered one goal and two assists in 12 Conference League appearances, while also making history as Chelsea’s youngest scorer at the Club World Cup.

Despite his progress, the youngster could be set for a move away from Stamford Bridge in search of regular first-team opportunities.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Roma have made enquiries about the conditions of a deal, having first approached George’s representatives in July.

The Italian side were interested in Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, but with the England international unwilling to make the switch despite a club-to-club agreement, Roma are now considering George as an alternative.

However, the Giallorossi will not have a free run at his signature as Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and several Premier League clubs are also monitoring the talented forward.

With the transfer window entering its decisive final week, George faces a crucial decision over his future as he weighs the prospect of leaving Chelsea to secure more consistent playing time and accelerate his development.
