Allnigeriasoccer.com provides a roundup of Nigerian players in action across European leagues on Saturday, August 23, 2025, with several stars making their mark on the scoresheet for their respective clubs.
In the EFL League One, Udoka Godwin-Malife was on target for Burton Albion in their 2-1 defeat to Stockport on Sunday.
The defender gave the visitors the lead in the first half, but despite playing with a man advantage, Burton failed to hold on.
At Adams Park, Fred Onyedinma also scored the first goal as Wycombe forced Reading to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
Onyedinma opened the scoring in the tenth minute while James Tilley snatched a point in the 89th minute.
Over in League Two, Manchester United loanee Habeeb Ogunneye scored his first senior goal but it counted for nothing as Newport County suffered a 2-1 loss to Newport County.
The youngster delighted the home fans with a sixth-minute opener, but the visitors responded with two goals to snatch victory.
Meanwhile, Idris Odutayo salvaged a point for Bromley with his 83rd-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw away to Notts County. The strike was his first goal of the season.
In Germany, Justin Njinmah was on the scoresheet for Werder Bremen in their Bundesliga opener, though it came in a heavy 4-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The forward struck just two minutes after the restart, but Bremen’s injury-hit squad struggled to cope with the hosts.
In France, Moses Simon opened his account for Paris FC in their 5-2 loss to Olympique Marseille on Saturday.
The winger, who joined from Nantes this summer, coolly finished past the keeper after being teed up by Ilan Kebbal.
Fellow Super Eagle Terem Moffi also impressed for OGC Nice, scoring just three minutes after coming on in the 73rd minute to help seal a 3-1 win over Gabriel Osho's Auxerre.
Elsewhere, in the Czech Republic, Rafiu Durosinmi struck for Viktoria Plzeň in their 2-1 victory over Karviná.
His 35th minute opener was his second league goal of the campaign.
