2025 Flying Eagles invitee extends scoring run to four games for Chelsea youth
Published: September 20, 2025
2025 Flying Eagles invitee Chizaram Ezenwata maintained his impressive form on Saturday, finding the net as Chelsea cruised to a 4-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in U18 Premier League action at Cobham Training Ground.
The talented striker has now scored in four consecutive matches for the Blues' U18 side, underlining his status as one of the academy’s standout performers in the early weeks of the season.
Ezenwata started the U18 Premier League campaign with a goal on his season debut against Crystal Palace, before finding the net in three successive games against Aston Villa, Arsenal and Brighton.
While speculation continues over his international future, the 17-year-old has also been delivering for England at youth level.
He scored on his full U18 debut against Morocco and struck again in the following game against Canada earlier this month.
Chelsea went into half-time with a narrow lead thanks to Kobe Barbour’s 20th-minute opener.
The Young Blues turned on the style after the break, with Mathis Eboue, Ezenwata and Chris Atherton all on target.
Ezenwata doubled the advantage in the 80th minute, converting from the penalty spot with a composed Panenka, before turning provider just two minutes later to set up Eboue for Chelsea's third.
Atherton added a late fourth to round off an emphatic win.
Apart from the 3-1 defeat to Shrewsbury Town's senior side in the EFL Trophy on August 26, Ezenwata has scored in every game he has featured in for Chelsea teams this season.
Having been an unused substitute in the UEFA Youth League clash with Bayern Munich, the English-Cameroonian-Nigerian forward will now be hoping to make his debut in the competition when Chelsea face Benfica in their next fixture.
