Announcement imminent: Momoh completes move to Swiss club on 2-year deal, work permit in place

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Swiss Super League club FC Winterthur are on the brink of confirming the signing of Nigerian forward Francis Momoh.

FC Winterthur agreed terms with Momoh before the close of Switzerland's summer transfer window on September 8, but the deal has yet to be announced as the club awaited the issuance of his work permit.

It is understood that the work permit is now in place, paving the way for the attacker to complete his move to the three-time Swiss champions following a successful medical.

Momoh has put pen to paper on a two-year contract, keeping him at FC Winterthur until the end of the 2026-2027 season.

The former Grasshoppers man is making a return to Swiss football, having spent a year at Ukrainian club LNZ Cherkasy, where he scored 3 goals in 27 all-competition appearances.

A product of Heartland, Momoh has been tipped to succeed Senegalese centre forward Christian Gomis, who moved to Schalke 04 in the summer window.

The Nigerian has Super League experience, with 19 goal involvements (10 goals, 9 assists) in 64 games across three seasons at Grasshoppers.

The deal taking Momoh to FC Winterthur was brokered by Rhema Obed and Chinedu Obi of Grace & Grit Sports.
