Super Eagles watch: Chukwueze and Simon provide assists, Onuachu Super Lig leading scorer
Published: October 03, 2025
Ahead of the international break, Super Eagles players continued to make headlines across Europe on Friday night, with Paul Onuachu, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon all providing decisive contributions for their clubs.
In Turkey, Onuachu underlined his fine form by scoring once and setting up another as Trabzonspor cruised to a 4-0 victory over Kayserispor.
The towering striker’s goal takes his tally to six this season, moving him top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring charts.
Despite his impressive displays, Onuachu was left out of Eric Chelle's 23-man squad for Nigeria's crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
In England, Chukwueze finally announced himself in Fulham colours after registering his first assist since joining on loan from AC Milan.
Introduced in the 67th minute of Fulham's Premier League clash with Bournemouth, the winger needed just three minutes to make an impact.
His clever pass found Ryan Sessegnon, who converted clinically to put Fulham 1-0 up. However, the London side eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, in France, Simon played a key role for Paris FC as they sealed a 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Lorient.
The Super Eagles winger delivered a neat assist for Jean-Philippe Krasso, whose strike capped off a dominant team performance.
