The keen football rivalry between Nigerian and the South American duo of Brazil and Argentina is bound to reach another level in October, as all three countries have been drawn together in the same group at this year’s FIFA Homeless World Cup in Mexico.
Details of the draw, which held under lavish scenes on Tuesday, revealed that Nigeria will play in Group B alongside Brazil, England, Argentina, India, Canada and Kyrgyzstan.
Leading the Nigerian Homeless World Cup women's team as head coach is Germany-based Helen Schonbrodt with ex-youth international, Jide Oguntuashe assisting.
The players representing Nigeria are Sarah Iloduba, Nimot Ahmad, Toyosi Alogba, Omolara Kolawole, Sudan Abidoye and Peace Ozehudu (all from Lagos), as well as Edikan Udoh, Regina Otu and Glory Henshaw from Calabar.
Training for the Homeless World Cup will start on Monday, 10th of September and runs till 28th September at the Astroturf 2000 Osbourne, Ikoyi Lagos State.
