Taye Taiwo Back In Fashion, Galatasaray Join Scramble For Defender
Published: December 28, 2012
Istanbul giants Galatasaray are looking for reinforcement at left back in the January market, and have targeted Nigeria international Taye Taiwo for that position , according to reports in the Turkish media.
Haber365.com says Galatasaray want to sub lease Taiwo from Dynamo Kiev for a rental fee of 500,000 euros. This is not the first time the former Gabros star is being linked with a move to Turkey as he was the subject of interest from The Lion in the summer transfer market.
If the transfer materializes, Taiwo can't play in the UEFA Champions League tie against Schalke 04. Despite that setback, the Super League pacesetters see him as a good addition to the squad in their quest to win the domestic championship.
The 27 - year - old wing back is also a target of Besiktas in the winter transfer market.
