Fifa Ranking: Super Eagles Make Progress
On Thursday morning, Football's governing body, Fifa released its monthly ranking of national teams.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, on the back of winning the African Cup of Nations in February, have made remarkable progress as they are ranked in the 28th position.

In comparison with last month's ranking, Nigeria, who are the 4th best team in Africa, climbed three places.

World Cup qualifying group opponents Malawi, Kenya and Namibia are ranked 109th, 122nd and 125th respectively .

In the continental ranking, the Flames are ranked 32nd, Harambee Stars 34th while the Brave Warriors are placed 37th.

European and World champions Spain continue to top the ranking followed by Germany, Argentina and Croatia.

Fifa Confederations Cup foes Uruguay are in 17th position while Tahiti occupy the 135th place.

The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com on June 6, 2013.
