Sounders Manager, Schmid Showers Praise On Obafemi Martins, Clint Dempsey
Published: April 27, 2014Out - of - favour Nigeria international Obafemi Martins was on target for the second consecutive game as Seattle Sounders defeated Colorado Rapids 4 - 1 in the MLS on Saturday.
The 75th minute strike takes his tally in the league this season to 3, having netted in earlier matches against Chivas USA and Montreal Impact.
After the game at CenturyLink Field (Seattle, Washington), Manager Sigi Schmid was full of praise for his attacking duo of Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey, who have accounted for 11 out of the 18 goals scored by Seattle Sounders in the topflight.
“People could make a case for Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan, and those guys together are pretty good, but right now Dempsey and Martins are as good as it gets in our league,” Schmid told the official website, soundersfc.com.
Seattle Sounders, who top the Western Conference standings after 8 rounds, are at home to Philadelphia Union next weekend.
