Ex Torino Defender Sergio Uyi Close To Joining New Team After Terminating FK Kruoja Deal
Published: May 28, 2015
Former Torino defender Sergio Uyi has mutually terminated his contract with Lithuanian top division side FK Kruoja Pakruojis due to unpaid entitlements.
Two months back, the Italian - Nigerian appended his signature to a one - season deal with FK Kruoja, which was due to run out on December 1, 2015.
“After the season with FK Dainava Alytus, I went back to Italy before returning to Lithuania in March to join FK Kruoja, ” says Sergio Uyi to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“But I stayed for like two months with them and I didn’t get any salary, nothing at all, so I broke my contract and I am now on holiday.
“Some clubs in Europe and Asia want to sign me but I am evaluating the best offer.
“I’m close to joining a new team but for the respect I have for the club I can’t mention the identity. Maybe in two weeks, it becomes official.”
Born in Torino, the defensive all-rounder is in the possession of a Nigerian passport and has committed his international future to the Africa powerhouse ahead of Italy.
According to Sergio Uyi, he was chosen as the best young defender in the Lithuanian topflight in 2014.
