Fulham on brink of deal for Chukwueze as AC Milan winger heads to London for medical
Published: August 31, 2025
Fulham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze as Marco Silva looks to strengthen his attacking options before the close of the transfer window.
According to The Times reporter Peter Rutzler, the 26-year-old winger is on his way to London and is scheduled to undergo a medical on Monday, with the deal expected to be finalized on deadline day.
The move would see Chukwueze join the Cottagers on loan from AC Milan.
Fulham have been scouring the market for wide players in recent weeks, with Arsenal's Reiss Nelson, Chelsea's Raheem Sterling and FC Basel's Philip Otele among those linked.
However, the London club appear to have made Chukwueze their priority target.
The Super Eagles forward, who joined Milan from Villarreal in July 2023, struggled to replicate his La Liga form in Serie A, managing just three goals in the division last season.
He arrived at AC Milan with a reputation as one of Spain's most exciting young attackers, having previously been a standout for Villarreal.
A graduate of Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria, Chukwueze burst onto the scene as part of the Golden Eaglets squad that lifted the Fifa U17 World Cup in 2015.
Since then, he has gone on to record 80 goal contributions in 277 club appearances across Villarreal and Milan.
On the international stage, he has earned 46 caps for Nigeria, scoring seven goals.
With his transfer set to be completed, Chukwueze is unlikely to report for international duty in Uyo on Monday ahead of Nigeria's 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
Should the move be finalized, he will become the third Nigeria international in the Fulham squad, linking up with compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at Craven Cottage.
