Odion Ighalo Says Watford Were Unlucky Not To Win Against Everton
Published: August 10, 2015
Odion Ighalo has reflected on Watford’s 2 - 2 draw with Everton in the Hornets first game of the season on Saturday.
With the Nigeria international opening his Premier League account in the 83rd minute, Watford were poised to snatch all three points, only for Arouna Kone to net the equalizer three minutes later.
“We could have come away with the three points, but we were unlucky and we must learn that when we are playing in the Premier League you have to fight to the end,” Ighalo told Hornets PlayerHD, according to watfordfc.com.
“I’m happy with the performance of the team, it will give us more confidence going forward to help us do well.
“We just have to learn from this, and try not to concede late on next time, but we really worked hard.”
Next up for Watford is a home game against Brown Ideye’s West Brom.
