Published: March 15, 2016
Southend United highly-rated full-back Jordan Williams has been offered a new deal by the League One club, with the current agreement between club and player set to run out at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The player’s agent, George Alawode-Williams, has disclosed that his client is likely to accept the contract offered by The Shrimpers.
“Jordan Williams has been offered a new professional deal at Southend United and will likely be accepting the offer. It is a one-year deal with a one-year option,” said George Alawode-Williams to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Sheffield Wednesday, Livingston(Scotland) and two unnamed Championship clubs had explored the possibility of singing the defender in the winter transfer market but failed to make an official bid to Southend United.
“For starters, no solid bids were made and secondly there is a clear pathway into regular first team football at Southend, ” concluded Alawode-Williams.
Jordan Williams starred for the youth teams of Arsenal and Charlton Athletic prior to his shift to Southend United.
