Super Eagles' saviour in friendly against Russia attracting interest from Fulham
Published: June 30, 2025
Fulham are planning to secure a move for Genk's Tolu Arokodare to improve their striking force ahead of the upcoming campaign, according to reports from Sun Sport.
Arokodare made headlines earlier this month when he scored his first goal in Nigeria colours, saving the Super Eagles from a defeat to 2018 World Cup hosts Russia in a friendly held in Moscow.
The London outfit has already begun initial talks with the Nigerian striker, who is reported to be eager to move to England.
The 24-year-old was in prolific scoring form for Genk last season. He ended the season as the highest goalscorer in the Belgian Pro League with 21 goals in 40 games and 23 goals across all competitions.
He also provided six assists – a testament to his creative ability.
Fulham are in the market for a striker to add more goalscoring output as they look to improve upon their position from last season and fight for a European spot.
Fulham could boast a Nigerian trio of Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Tolu Arokodare starting next season should the Nigerian sharpshooter make the move to Craven Cottage.
Arokodare, who made his debut for Nigeria on March 21, 2025, against Rwanda, has four caps for the Nigeria national team and is highly rated amongst promising strikers in Europe.
Genk are resigned to losing the Nigerian marksman this summer and have begun scouring the market for a suitable replacement.
