Dream Team VI Star Oduduwa Racing To Be Fit For Olympic Games
Published: May 29, 2016
Nigeria U23 international Segun Oduduwa has been ruled out of the Suwon Invitational Tournament after picking up an injury during one of the training sessions at the practice pitch of the National Stadium Abuja .
Coach Samson Siasia is hoping the injury sustained by the defender is not serious and he will resume training ahead of the Olympic Games in August.
“I hope the doctors work round the clock to remedy this unfortunate incident so that Oduduwa can return to training on time and be fit for the Rio Olympics, as he has been an integral part of this team from the beginning,” Siasia told thenff.com.
Nineteen players will now travel to South Korea instead of the 20 named to the roster as a replacement for Oduduwa cannot be called in at very short notice.
The Nath Boys stopper starred for the Dream Team at the Africa U23 Cup of Nations and was part of the squad that won bronze at the 2015 All –Africa Games in Brazzaville.
