Confirmed: PEC Zwolle loan in Manchester United youth product Shoretire
Published: September 03, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Dutch Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle confirmed on Wednesday morning the signing of Manchester United academy graduate Shola Shoretire.
The transfer was completed before the close of the summer transfer window in the Netherlands on September 2.
In search of adequate playing opportunities, Shoretire has joined PEC Zwolle on loan from Greek club PAOK Saloniki.
Since joining PAOK, the former England youth international of Nigerian descent has made just seven starts from a possible 52 games across all competitions.
Speaking on the signing of Shoretire, PEC Zwolle's Technical director Gerry Hamstra said: "Shola is a creative and technically gifted attacker who has completed the entire Manchester United academy.
"In the final weeks of the transfer window, we've been actively looking for a creative attacker who can also play in multiple positions up front.
"Shola arrived late on the market, and we're therefore pleased to have been able to sign him."
Born in Newcastle Shoretire, came through the Manchester United academy and went on to feature prominently for their U21 side, registering 32 goals and 20 assists in 71 appearances across the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2.
The 21-year-old gained first-team experience with United in the Premier League and also featured in both the Champions League and Europa League.
After a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers, the forward joined PAOK Saloniki, where he featured in 28 matches last season and netted four goals.
