Official: Nwosu joins Nottingham Forest from West Ham on three-year deal
Published: September 03, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of England U17 international of Nigerian descent Chinaza Nwosu.
The 17-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract with The Reds, bringing an end to his eight-year spell with West Ham United, the club he joined at the age of eight.
Nwosu was a regular for the Hammers' U18 side last season, making 17 appearances in the U18 Premier League and amassing 1,494 minutes of action as West Ham finished ninth in the southern section.
He also made his FA Youth Cup debut, featuring for 79 minutes in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Grimsby Town in the third round.
Although eligible for Forest's Premier League squad as an U21 player, Nwosu will initially link up with the club's B team under the guidance of Warren Joyce.
Renowned for his versatility, the teenager is comfortable operating as a central midfielder or in central defence, a quality that has already caught the eye at both club and international level.
On the international stage, Nwosu enjoyed a productive year with England U17s in 2024–25, earning 11 caps.
He scored in a friendly against the Netherlands and provided two assists during European Championship qualifiers against Malta and Latvia.
His move to Nottingham Forest marks the next step in a promising career for a player regarded as one of the most versatile young talents in his age group.
