Pacos de Ferreira Join Vitoria de Guimaraes In Scramble For Mikel - A Bola
Published: July 10, 2016
Paços de Ferreira have joined the race for the services of Dream Team VI trainee Mikel Agu.
Respected Portuguese daily A Bola writes in its print edition that The Beavers are hoping to sign the defensive midfielder on a season-long loan from Porto in the coming days.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm that Paços de Ferreira and Vitória de Guimarães are among six teams in Portugal, including second-tier clubs, that expressed an interest in Mikel’s signature this summer after he was declared surplus to requirement by coach Nuno Espírito Santo.
Vitória de Guimarães were thought to be in the driving seat for Mikel but a deal has not been finalized because the president of the club just returned from his vacation.
The 23-year-old has said that he would prefer a move to Vitória because he loves the city and the distance from Porto is less than an hour, but his switch to the club is not cast in stone.
