Published: January 18, 2017
Sunderland manager David Moyes has provided an update on the fitness of Super Eagles striker Victor Anichebe.
Anichebe has not played for the Black Cats since December 31, 2016 when he suffered a hamstring injury against Burnley in the Premier League, but he is expected to return to full training before the end of this week.
“Victor’s doing some running and there’s a chance he can join back in training this week, but he’s not joined the team in training to this point, ” said Moyes to the official website of Sunderland.
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, Anichebe was a regular starter for Sunderland, making eight starts in his last nine games.
