Promising Nigerian Defender Wanted By Liverpool, Man City Scores Against Arsenal
Published: May 13, 2017
West Ham U18s ended the season on a high after holding Arsenal to a 3-3 draw at Shenley Training Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The promising Nigerian defender Ajibola Alese inspired the Hammers to earn a share of the spoils against their illustrious opponents, who knew their title hopes were over after Chelsea beat Reading on Friday night.
With the visitors trailing 3-1 and only 17 minutes left on the clock, Alese reduced the deficit when he controlled a pass from Powell and finished brilliantly, then Scully scored right at the death to rescue a point for West Ham.
The game against Arsenal was the seventh time Alese wore the jersey of the Hammers in the U18 Premier League this season, and his first goal for the team.
An England U16 international, he has been linked with possible moves to Liverpool and Manchester City in the near future.
Tolaji Bola and Tobi Omole were on parade for Arsenal today but didn't work a full shift.
