PL2 Liverpool 1 Tottenham 1 : Adekanye Scores, Eyoma Sent Off After Two Minutes
Published: August 17, 2018
Netherlands youth teamer of Nigerian descent, Bobby Adekanye opened his 2018/2019 Premier League 2 goal account for Liverpool with a delightful strike in their 1-1 draw versus Tottenham on Friday evening.
The winger started on the right side of the hosts attack while his compatriot on the opposing side, Timothy Eyoma partnered George Marsh in the center of defence for Spurs.
Eyoma was sent off for a handball on the line just two minutes into the game at the Anfield Stadium though Liverpool's Adam Lewis failed to make the most of the resultant spot kick.
But that would not deter the hosts who came banging on the door for the opener which they eventually got courtesy of the dazzling Adekanye.
The 19-year-old showed some quick movements down the right channel after picking up a pass from Glen McAuley, creating space for himself before cutting in to squeeze home a brilliant solo effort in the 14th minute.
Marcus Edwards however, ensured points were shared from the game when he grabbed an equaliser for his side in the 23rd minute.

While Eyoma is now suspended for the young Lilywhites next domestic engagement versus Brighton next week, Neil Critchley will hope Adekanye can replicate more of tonight's performance when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to tackle Manchester City next time out.
