Arsenal Fans Divided On Saka's Long Term Position At The Club Amid Link With PSG Star
Published: January 16, 2020
Arsenal fans are seemingly divided on the long-term role which Bukayo Saka has at the club as the club continue to find a suitable replacement for the plagued left-back position at the Emirates stadium.
Having struggled with injuries in the left-channel of the defence for much of this season, the Gunners are currently in the market for a left-back with Paris Saint Germain's Layvin Kurzawa a target.
Saka, originally a winger has been deputising for the club at that position in the midst of the injury crisis but perhaps, most fans still think his best position lies away from defence, if some of the arising comments on Twitter are anything to go by.
Check out some of these tweets below :
@HandsofArteta: Saka isint a left back let's not destroy the lad ffs better off getting cover. Would have preferred and young up and coming but we probably can't get anything done.
@WozAfc: Kurzawa. We need a left back, smart business, if he can rekindle old form it's a fantastic deal, if he can't it's still sensible so we can compete for the rest of this season. If you think Saka can deputise at left back then good luck to you, Arteta knows it can't happen.
@gooner_ug: Saka can fill in, but he mustn't be wasted at LB. We all know where he plays best.
@Wayne_Writes: 3/4 deals is interesting and hopefully positive. If Kurzawa coming means Kolasinac is leaving in summer, great. But I've liked Saka at LB. Him and Tierney should be the future. It's a weird one. I liked Kurzawa at Monaco. But he's been trash for a couple seasons.
@CollosalChig: Im waiting for people to start talking about Kurzawa being the next coming, he isn't, he is decent, but he is better than Kolasinac and Saka is wasted there so tbh i do think this is a necessary signing. Anything we can do for that backline should be seen as a positive move.
@@phosdoxa: Some arsenal fans say trash at times. How can you say Saka is a good LB? How? If you think Saka can deputise at left back then something is wrong with you.
@rehnato: I like Kurzawa, we all know Kolasinac's injury looks serious, Tierney won't play til April, Saka isn't a left back. But overpaying for squad players is a massive reason we are in this mess that we are today.
@ArsenaCanada04: Saka was a fullback before he was a winger. I feel like Kurzawa would just be another waste of money on a squad player as you said, another panic buy really.
@VintageArsanal: Exactly mate, I think Saka will do well or we can play Bola for a month or we can loan another LB for six months and then Tierney and Kolasinac will be back as well.
@bobbybrownyo: Saka is a left back originally. Played there for the England youth teams
@Ozilgasm1886: He is a great player who knows his position. Need a LB right now as Kola and Tierney not fit. Saka playing LB gives us less to no options on the left wing.
