'We Don't Have Players In Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea' - Rohr Admits Eagles Stars In EPL Play For Relegation Battlers
Published: February 09, 2021Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has pointed out that some of the Super Eagles stars in the Premier League are not playing for top clubs but relegation battlers.
Ola Aina and Josh Maja are part of the Fulham side struggling to win matches, while center back Semi Ajayi has been one of the few bright sparks in a dismal season so far for West Brom, who are working on a deal to sign Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa.
Rohr hinted that it would be difficult for fresh players to break into the Super Eagles team if they are not playing at a high level for the big European clubs.
"I hope that we can find better players but we have already good players. It's true that we don't have players in Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea," Rohr explained to Super Eagles TV.
"Our players are playing in Fulham, West Brom - they are struggling to stay in the Premier League.
"We have fortunately two players in Leicester City and in other big clubs not so much for the moment.
"So we must be humble, they must work, they must come in better clubs and they must prove the quality in the club games."

Rohr is keeping tabs on Union Berlin star Taiwo Awoniyi and Lorient's Terem Moffi, who are both on the books of big five European League clubs, ahead of his squad announcement for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
