Published: May 05, 2022Manchester United target Ahmed Abdullahi was among the scorers as the Flying Eagles thrashed Olympic Niamey 4-0 in a friendly on Wednesday evening.
It was the third preparatory game played by the Nigeria U20s in the Republic of Niger ahead of their opening game at the WAFU B U20 Championship.
Abduallhi was the standout player for the Golden Eaglets squad that finished second at the 2021 WAFU-UFOA Zone B Championship and has been tipped to shine for Nigeria at the WAFU B U20 Championship.
The highly rated teenager has already undergone trials at Borussia Dortmund, Marseille and Lorient, while Manchester City are his other suitor in the English Premier League.
Gombe United duo Muhammad Aminu and Ibrahim Yahaya, and Muhammad Beji were the Flying Eagles' other scorers in yesterday's comprehensive win against the Nigerien Ligue 1 outfit.
Only the top two countries from the seven-team tournament will qualify for next year's U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Flying Eagles are Africa's most successful team at the AFCON, having won the title on seven occasions and were runners-up twice.
