Published: September 17, 2022
Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka was the star performer as Chelsea defeated Brighton & Hove 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday.
According to Football London's chief Chelsea correspondent, Adam Newson, the players that started against Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday did not feature.
The friendly was arranged by both clubs to keep the players in shape after their matches this weekend were called off following Queen Elizabeth's death.
The Blues were supposed to face Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and the Seagulls would have hosted Crystal Palace on Saturday.
