Confirmed : Chelsea name Nigeria-eligible midfielder in provisional squad v AC Milan
Published: October 10, 2022Through their official website, Chelsea have published their provisional squad for the UEFA Champions League matchday four fixture against AC Milan in the San Siro on Tuesday night.
The Blues have confirmed that manager Graham Potter will select his team from the twenty two players in the traveling party that touched down in Italy on Monday afternoon.
It is foregone conclusion that Carney Chukwuemeka, who is with the team in Milan, will be named in the matchday squad as UEFA permits twenty three players to be dressed for Champions League group games.
The England U20 international of Nigerian descent made his debut for Chelsea's first team at the weekend, coming off the bench for the final four minutes of a 3-0 rout of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
Chukwuemeka's next target is to play his first game in the Champions League after he was a non-playing substitute against Dinamo Zagreb and Salzburg in September.
Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Denis Zakaria and Conor Gallagher are the other midfielders available for selection against AC Milan.
