'So many ways Osimhen scores goals' - Ex-Man City CB says it won't be easy for Milan
Published: April 18, 2023
Victor Osimhen has been named in Napoli's starting lineup for their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg clash against Serie A rivals AC Milan at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Nigeria national teamer sat out the first leg at the San Siro six days ago because he was recovering from a muscle injury he suffered while on international duty with the Super Eagles in March.
Manager Luciano Spalletti has set up his team in his preferred 4-3-3 formation, with Osimhen leading the attack, flanked by Matteo Politano and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
One-time Nigeria Football Federation target and Chelsea academy product Fikayo Tomori starts for AC Milan and he's partnered at centre-back by the experienced Simon Kjaer.
The two Milan defenders have not faced Osimhen this season as the Nigerian missed the three previous meetings against the Rossoneri due to fitness issues.
Former England and Manchester City central defender Joleon Lescott has insisted that it won't be easy for the AC Milan defenders coming up against a Napoli side with Osimhen.
"There are so many ways that Osimhen scores goals. It won't be easy for them, but I'm sure Milan's defenders will pride themselves on keeping him quiet," Lescott said on BT Sport ahead of kickoff.
Of the 25 goals scored by Osimhen this season. eight were headers, eleven with his right foot, four with his left foot, one counter attack goal and a tap-in.
