Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City learn release clause to sign former Super Eagles invitee
Published: January 06, 2024
Premier League giants Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal been told they will have to have to pay more than €40m to sign former Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise.
This follows a report from Footballinsider which states that Olise has a release clause "worth well in excess of €40m" which was inserted in the new contract he signed with Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old was close to leaving the Eagles for West-London-based side Chelsea in the last transfer window but opted to ink a new deal with the former.
However, that has not taken away news linking him with an exit from Selhurst Park with a host of Premier League giants queuing up for his services.
It is no longer news that Manchester United see Olise as an upgrade on current right-wing option Antony who has no goal involvement in the Premier League this season and would love to sign the French-Nigerian forward next summer.
Liverpool also consider him to be a perfect fit for Mohamed Salah who could make a big move to Saudi Arabia at the end of the season while Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea's interests have been previously reported.
Olise has been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month for December and scooped both Crystal Palace's Player and Goal of the Month awards.
