22yo Nigerian attacker involved in Arsenal's final training session before trip to Ipswich Town
Published: April 20, 2025
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ran the rule over Nigerian attacker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji on Saturday, April 19, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Butler-Oyedeji participated in the Gunners final training session at Sobha Realty Training Centre in London Colney before the trip to relegation-threatened Ipswich Town.
It remains to be seen whether the Hale End Academy graduate will be named in the matchday squad to face the Tractor Boys as several first-team forwards took part in the final training session.
Ethan Nwaneri, Bukayo Saka, Mikel Marino, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard were all spotted during the training session.
One of the most experienced players in Arsenal's development squad, Butler-Oyedeji has received a career-high twenty call-ups so far this season, making one appearance — his senior debut in a Champions League encounter against Dinamo Zagreb back in January.
The 22-year-old has climbed up the pecking order of forwards at the Emirates Stadium, with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz sidelined by injuries.
As of April 20, he has registered sixteen goal involvements (10 goals, 6 assists) in sixteen appearances across all competitions for Arsenal U21s this season.
Nigerian-born Republic of Ireland international Chiedozie Ogbene will miss the Ipswich Town versus Arsenal match due to an Achilles injury.
