'I heard the news' - Felix Agu responds to release clause rumours amid Fulham, West Ham links
Published: April 30, 2025
Felix Agu has reacted to speculation linking him with a departure from German Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen this summer.
English Premier League clubs West Ham and Fulham are reportedly monitoring Agu closely, with an eye on a potential move at the end of the 2024-2025 season.
It has been suggested that the former Germany U21 international could be on the move sooner than expected, with claims that his contract, which runs until 2027, includes a release clause.
The clause is said to allow the versatile fullback to leave the club for a reported fee between eight and ten million euros.
Agu has played an increasingly important role in Ole Werner’s side and continues to attract interest with his consistent performances.
When asked about the rumors, the 25-year-old addressed them with a smile but made it clear that his attention is fully on the current season.
"Of course, I heard the news. But I haven't spent any time speculating about my future," Agu acknowledged in an interview with Weser Kurier.
Instead, the versatile fullback emphasized he is focused on Werder Bremen in the ongoing season.
"For me, it’s about us achieving the best possible result this season with Werder," he stated.
Originally signed as a right-back, the German-Nigerian defender has showcased his adaptability by excelling on the left flank for Werder Bremen.
This season, Agu has registered three goals in nineteen matches in the Bundesliga, while providing an assist.
