What Tosin said after Chelsea's win, CB involved in heated confrontation with Djurgarden midfielder
Published: May 02, 2025
Tosin Adarabioyo took to social media to celebrate Chelsea's 4-1 rout of Swedish opponents Djurgarden in a UEFA Conference League semifinal showdown at the Stockholm Arena on Thursday night.
The Nigeria Football Federation target partnered Benoit Badiashile at centre-back, with Josh Acheampong and Marc Cucurella filling the fullback roles.
Jadon Sancho, after eleven minutes, curled a low effort past the Djurgarden goalkeeper to open the scoring and Noni Madueke picked out the bottom corner to double the advantage in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, a brace from Nicolas Jackson saw Chelsea establish a four-goal lead but Isak Alemayehu Mulugeta headed home his first senior goal to cut the deficit in the 68th minute.
Tensions flared in the 90th minute as Gulliksen and Tosin clashed, triggering a scuffle involving several players, with the two main culprits—the Djurgarden midfielder and Chelsea defender—receiving yellow cards.
Posting on his Instagram stories after the game, Tosin stated: "'Four goals and a big win."
Thursday's game in the Swedish capital was Tosin's ninth appearance in the Conference League proper this season.
The Manchester City academy graduate wasn't the only Nigeria-eligible player on parade as he was joined in the starting lineup by Tyrique George.
The second leg will be played at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, May 8, four days after Chelsea's clash with Liverpool in the Premier League.
