Red-hot Musa hits 19: Man Utd youth team striker ends season in style against Sunderland
Published: May 11, 2025
Manchester United youth team striker Victor Musa was on target as the Red Devils defeated Sunderland 3-1 in their final game of the 2024-2025 season.
With United U21s beaten by Manchester City in the Premier League 2 playoff semifinal, it means Musa will not be in action until next season, unless he is handed a first-team debut in one of the final four games of the campaign.
A snap shot into the bottom left corner by Felix Scott gave the Black Cats the lead inside two minutes, following a cut-back from Trey Ogunsuyi.
Amir Ibragimov, one of the shortest players on the pitch, got up highest and his glancing header beat the Sunderland goalkeeper in the 35th minute, before Albert Mills, with a back post header, made it 2-1 four minutes before the break.
In the second minute of second half stoppage time, Musa slotted into the bottom corner to double Manchester United's advantage.
The Spanish-Nigerian forward ended the campaign with nineteen goals across all competitions for United's youth teams, comprising sixteen in the U18 Premier League, two in the National League Cup and one in the EFL Trophy.
Musa was on fire in the season run-in, netting in four consecutive matches in the U18 Premier League.
Manchester United finished the season with 63 points, two less than U18 Premier League North champions Manchester City.
