Derby County make transfer decisions on five Nigerian players including Crystal Palace loanee
Published: May 16, 2025
Following the completion of the 2024-2025 season, Championship club Derby County have announced their retained and released list, making key decisions on five players of Nigerian descent.
Crystal Palace-owned midfielder David Ozoh has returned to his parent club, the Rams confirmed.
Ozoh joined Derby County on a season-long loan last summer in search of adequate playing opportunities.
However, he had an injury plagued season at Pride Park Stadium, limiting his appearances to twelve in all competitions.
On a positive note, the Valencia-born player netted his first professional goal in a 3-0 rout of Bristol City in August.
At academy level, promising forward Justin Oguntolu and central defender Adisa Osayande, who are currently second year scholars, have been offered their first professional contracts.
Oguntolu and Osayande represented the Rams in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup and Premier League Cup in the recently concluded season.
Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu will begin the second year of his scholarship in 2025-2026, while Emmanuel Ilesanmi has been released.
In his final season as a Derby County player, Ilesanmi scored four goals in ten appearances in the Premier League 2.
