'Mikel wants to take him to Chelsea' - Agent claims Osimhen prefers transfer to Liverpool
Published: May 23, 2025
Turkish agent Mithat Halis has stirred up fresh transfer speculation concerning the future of Victor Osimhen, revealing that while former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel is pushing for the Nigerian striker to join the Blues, the Napoli forward has his eyes set on a move to Liverpool.
Osimhen has been the subject of intense transfer interest from top European clubs, including Premier League teams following his stellar performances in Istanbul.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, has been in scintillating form, scoring 36 goals and providing eight assists in 40 matches across all competitions.
Chelsea has long been considered a frontrunner, especially with the London club's ongoing search for a clinical striker.
Despite the interest from the Blues, Halis believes Nigerian striker is prioritizing a transfer to Liverpool.
In an interview with Radyospor, as reported by habersarikirmizi, Halis revealed that Chelsea have the financial muscle to secure the signing of the Nigerian striker.
"Liverpool is now the first choice in England for every successful footballer like Osimhen. Former footballer Obi Mikel wants to take him to Chelsea," he stated.
"It is possible, they can make it happen because Chelsea has a very high payment power."
Despite Chelsea's interest, he revealed that the Nigerian striker will join Liverpool if he chooses to leave Galatasaray at the end of the current season.
"But if Osimhen is not going to stay at Galatasaray, he wants to play at Liverpool in Europe."
As the summer window approaches, Osimhen will hope to continue his fine form to end the season with the Yellow-Reds on a positive note.
